Last night I ventured out to Gowanus, Brooklyn to see Nora Jones at The Bell House.  When I looked it up to see where it was and saw that it was in Gowanus, I knew I was in for an adventure! I hopped on the G train and was there in 25 minutes, easy peasy and then it's just 4 blocks from the subway.  And let me tell you it was worth the trip . . . I LOVE it! It is an industrial part of town and the building itself looks like it was previously a warehouse like all of its neighbours, it also really reminds me of a big old road house.  Out side the front of the building there are bar tables and stools set up where you are allowed to take your drink out from the bar and sit there to enjoy a warm Summer night before a show.  Inside there are many cool things to catch your eye, first and foremost they have a large great selection of interesting beers, a photo booth, a BBQ stand that smells delicious, really awesome murals on the walls painted by the legendary Shepard Fairey and then finally the main hall.  The room has a beautiful wooden vaulted ceiling with huge enchanting chandeliers dangling above the audience.  The stage is a really nice size and the sound was impeccable!

Everyone from Hacienda and Dead Confederate to Neil Young and his wife's band and Nora Jones have blessed the stage.   There is an upcoming show that will have me making the trip back out there again, The Dandy Warhols on June 6th which is already sold out but should give you even more of an incentive to regularly check the venue's calendar and stay on top of their great schedule!  Check out the snaps I took:
