This is soooooo cool! For the first time ever there is finally some footage of a giant squid on camera in it's natural habitat! The fine folks that succeeded in this mission were scientists from Japan's National Museum of Nature and Science, in cooperation with Japanese public broadcaster NHK and the Discovery Channel, 9 miles east of Chichi Island in the North Pacific Ocean. Well I know exactly what I am doing on Sunday the 27th! I will be cozy at home watching the discovery channel where the footage is scheduled to be aired as part of the Discovery Channel program "Monster Squid: The Giant Is Real." The segment will feature images of the silvery, 10-foot creature swimming against the current. Click HERE to get more details via Huffington Post and to watch a preview.
