WEIRD NEWS: A Syberian Mummy From 2500 Years Ago Had Intricate Tattoos

She was most likely a member of the Pazyryk tribe, nomads who lived in the Altai mountains of Siberia. Her mummy was discovered in 1993. It was kept preserved in the permafrost, which is why her tattoos are still visible. Tattoos were regarded as a form of personal identification back then apparently, they also believed it would help families find each other after death by recognising the tattoos.
