OOOh I love this story!! Eye witnesses report seeing a 16lb Canadian Goose happily floating on the river when suddenly it was dragged vertically, as quick as a blink, below the surface . . . never to resurface. Reports also show that the numbers of Swans and geese in the river have been declining! There are theories as to what the 'killer beast' might be, including one that it's a Wels catfish, a creature native to the waters of central, southern and eastern Europe which can reach a length of 9ft (2.7m) and weighs some 300lb (135kg). Yikes!!
